Two Wings to Fly

Photobucket
There is no gift
I can give you
greater than the joy
you've given me.

I learned to love in the
light of your soul,

I learned to pray
when you made me believe

shackles and boundaries
are only dreams.

Then you led me beyond
what I thought was
perfection:

you showed me another
mirror of God's face

when I held our daughter
in my arms

and I saw Him float
across her eyes
and brush
against her face
to remind me of
what I'm doing here,
what my soul has been
up to.

I'll never know what
I did to deserve you.

I can only praise the
Light who
sent me two angels
and two wings to fly
above this world
and beyond my dreams

and one day,
across infinity.
