TO SARA

Sunlight through drop filled branches
your smile shines through the crib bars
your sweet voice that warns of dawn
much too early for our routine
so you just sit and wait
sit and stare at the bed
waiting for someone
for something, for movement
you play your music to pass the time
you hum along, patient
i wake up and it's like Xmas
you jump of joy, eyes so wide
you give both arms, smiling, laughing
waiting for that magical ride
where i hold you and you fly
out of the bedroom, into the day
another morning for myself
another adventure for you
another class, a whole new world
for my angel here today
