Autumn

Autumn winds chill brings a distant memory
Awakened from a rose bed of slumber
Summer hues of greenish-blue have turned to reddish-orange
To boldly paint a picture I remember...

I close my eyes to listen, as the seasons change
Umbrellas greet the scented rain, rosy cheeks rush by
Crisp leaves are swirling, falling down, down, down
A mountain of dreams float to the sky...

A Country drive, or an invigorating hike
Apple cider, earthy quilts, and Halloween fright
Thanksgiving blessings, loved ones near
Peace bringing warmth to a cold starry night...

Pumpkins and hayrides, Grand kids at school
Schedules to meet, breakfast on the go, go, go
Goblins and turkeys, make way for sleds and mittens
Just around the corner, is a Winters snow...
