Going back

I sit and stare,
I remember the past.
Soft sand a place to sleep.
Storm coming up,
a roof to find.
I hear the call,
to the sea, to the sea,
smell the air, I'm free.

I have no haste,
I take my time.
Listen to the call.
I'm on my way,
I'll soon be home.
The urge is strong,
to the sea, to the sea,
smell the air, I'm free.

I have returned,
I answered the call,
picked up my roots,
and followed the scent.
Here once more,
where I belong.
to the sea, to the sea,
smell the air, I'm free.
