Forbidden

Heartbreak as our eyes chancel; rivers rage intimately
Tendrils twists you beyond my grasp
You reel on this edge; barely able to decide: the river or my arms
Arms that bring you all you desire; now you recoil its touch
Love which fills your lungs; now you suffocate in darkness
Passion that ignited deep in your soul; now you cage in regret
Strength which you drew upon; now you have come to resent
A heart that cries in the silence; ashamed it can do no more;
broken again, as it is forbidden
