Simply stated, I am a man who appreciates the simple pleasures that life affords.

More tangibly, I am from the beautiful paradise of Jamaica. I spent my formative years in Jamaica before going to New York City.

I starting writing at the age of 17...I remember the moment -- the velvet sky of the Caribbean served as the soft sheet that covered me on that cool summer's night. I remember looking up at the many candles which blanketed the sky. There amongst the candles was the most silvery moon my eyes had yet to behold. This was the most ideal and romantic setting I have encountered; it was at that moment I also felt my emptiest -- for you see, I was alone during that time.

On that night I crafted three (3) poems: "Limitations of love", "A man to his heart" and "Thoughts of you".

Over the years I have allowed my passion soar to its heights. There are times however when my passion is imprisoned, and my desire to translate my heart's beat into that which we term "written words" lays in wait. I have come to accept and embrace the ebb and tides of my passion.

I am currently creating a novel, which is based on two premise/quotes:
1. "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance"
2. "To dare to live alone is the rarest courage; since there are many who had rather meet their bitterest enemy in the field, than their own hearts in their closet."
The book is appropriately titled "The dare to live alone -- Diary of a man".

It is during those times when my passion is at its height where I unlocked the doors of my prison and allow the characters in the novel to come out and unleashed their sometimes comical, sometimes soft-spoken, sometimes sinful ways.

When I am not at play with my characters in the novel, I pay a visit to "In my time". "In my time" is a collection of poems and prose. It is a summation of hopes, desires, experiences, sins; it is a summation of passions.

“In absence of passion you have nothing. In absence of love you have no passion.” – Steve Grierson

Love,

Steve
